Everything you need in your day

The Mushaf and focus mode

The 604 pages of the Madinah Mushaf in the Uthmani script, or a verse-by-verse view with translation of the meanings. In focus mode the buttons disappear and the screen stays on, and you turn the page by tapping its edge, with a daily wird and khatmah tracking.

Verse options with a long press

Touching the page does not interrupt your reading. Long-press any verse and a bar appears with: tafsir, listen from here, bookmark, copy and share.

Tafsir inside the page

Tafsir al-Muyassar and al-Jalalayn built in for offline use, a library of tafsirs downloaded when needed, and translations of the meanings in 15 languages. The tafsir opens in a panel over the page so the page does not move behind it, and you can move from it to the next and previous verse.

Recitation and its settings

Choose "Listen" to open the recitation settings from that very verse: the reciter, the range (continuous, page, surah, or from one verse to another), repetition of each verse, the pause after it and the speed, with ready-made presets for listening, memorisation and revision.

Memorisation assistant

In focus mode the verses are hidden so you can test your memorisation, then you reveal them verse by verse with a tap, or reveal the next one from the toolbar, with repeated recitation to help you memorise.

Adhkar with their evidence

334 adhkar in 24 sections from Hisn al-Muslim, morning and evening adhkar, prayer and sleep adhkar, and Quranic supplications. Every dhikr has an "Evidence" button: the source, hadith number, its grading and who graded it, the narrator and its virtue, with an interactive counter.

Prayer, adhan and Qibla

Accurate times for your city with all the adopted calculation methods, adhan alerts that work offline, a Qibla compass, and 5 home-screen widgets: prayer times, next prayer, verse of the day, Hijri date and khatmah.

Zakat, inheritance and more

A zakat calculator for the five types of wealth and Zakat al-Fitr, an inheritance calculator based on the science of fara'id with 'awl and radd, fidya and kaffarah, the Hijri calendar and events, and the tasbih, all with religious evidence.

15 languages and 10 colors

Arabic, English, French, Turkish, Urdu, Indonesian, Malay, Persian, Bengali, Russian, German, Spanish, Ukrainian, Uzbek and Kazakh, with new languages downloaded without updating the app. And ten interface colors with a night mode.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Mizan app free?

Yes, the app is completely free, with no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. The Mushaf, the core tafsirs, the adhkar, prayer times, adhan alerts and the calculators all work offline. The internet is needed only to listen to recitations and to download additional tafsirs or languages.

How do I open the tafsir of a verse or listen to it?

Long-press the verse in the Mushaf or in the verse-by-verse view, and a bar appears with tafsir, listen, bookmark, copy and share. Choosing "Listen" opens the recitation settings so you can start from that verse with the reciter, range and repetition you want.

Can a new language be added to the app?

Yes. New languages are published as packs downloaded from within the app without waiting for an update, with translations of the meanings of the Quran and the adhkar in that language.

When will the iPhone version be released?

The iPhone and iPad version is under development and will be released soon on the App Store; we will announce it on this page.

What is the difference between installing from Google Play and the APK file?

They are the same app. Installing from Google Play is easier and updates the app automatically, while the APK file is useful for devices without Google services and requires allowing the installation of apps from unknown sources.

Does the app collect my data?

No. The app does not require you to create an account and contains no ads or tracking tools; your data, such as your location and your khatmah progress, stays on your device only.
